Electronics, Embedded Systems and Industrial Automation Design
GEKAR is the personal brand of Grzegorz Pawlicki – an electronics engineer and embedded systems designer with more than 20 years of professional experience.
Since 2003, I have been designing and developing electronic products for industrial and railway applications, while since 2009 I have also been operating my own engineering and design business.
I develop complete electronic devices and control systems: from concept and architecture, through hardware and firmware development, to prototype commissioning, EMC preparation, technical documentation and production support.
This is not an anonymous company or a large engineering team. It is direct cooperation with the engineer responsible for the solution – someone who can understand a technical problem, propose an effective solution and deliver a working device, prototype or production-ready design.
How I Can Help
- electronics design: concept, schematics, PCB design, component selection and bring-up,
- embedded firmware: STM32, C, bare-metal, FreeRTOS, industrial communications,
- hardware, firmware and application integration,
- debugging and troubleshooting of existing electronic products,
- design and modernization of small machine automation systems: PLC, HMI and motion control,
- EMC, CE compliance, technical documentation and production preparation.
Technical Profile
My key strength is the ability to take responsibility for the entire product development cycle – from requirements and system architecture, through electronics and firmware development, to commissioning, EMC testing and production preparation.
I combine expertise in electronics design, embedded software development and industrial system integration. This allows me to view a project as a complete technical solution, rather than a collection of separate tasks distributed among multiple contractors.
My work focuses primarily on STM32 microcontrollers, embedded systems, industrial communications (CAN/CANopen, RS485, Ethernet, TRDP) and electronics designed for demanding operating environments. Particular attention is paid to reliability, EMC compliance and long-term operation of the finished product.
Selected Project Experience
For more than 20 years I have delivered complete electronic projects for industrial and railway applications, taking responsibility for their execution from concept to deployment. My work included electronics design, firmware development, EMC preparation, commissioning and production support. Projects ranged from new product development to modernization of existing designs. Most of these solutions entered serial production and remain in service after many years of operation.
Railway Industry
- controllers for pneumatic front and side passenger doors,
- controllers for electrically operated compartment doors,
- passenger coach lighting controllers,
- railway public address amplifiers and passenger announcement systems,
- passenger compartment control panels,
- communication devices using CAN, CANopen, RS485, Ethernet and TRDP,
- heating and onboard utility system controllers for railway coaches,
- equipment designed to meet EN 50155 and EMC requirements.
Industrial Applications and Automation
- electronic controllers and modules for industrial automation,
- heating, domestic hot water (DHW) and technical building system controllers,
- temperature control systems,
- motion-control systems using stepper, DC and BLDC motors,
- control systems for special-purpose machines and equipment,
- PLC and HMI applications,
- embedded systems designed for continuous 24/7 operation in demanding environments.
Direct Responsibility for the Project
Working with GEKAR means direct communication with the engineer responsible for the solution. There are no intermediaries, diluted responsibility or project handovers between departments. This shortens communication paths, accelerates technical decisions and reduces risks at the interfaces between hardware, firmware and system integration.
I provide the greatest value in projects that require the combination of electronics, firmware and system integration, where the objective is to transform an idea into a working prototype or a production-ready product.
No Customer Names – Focus on Capabilities
Client names and confidential project details are intentionally omitted. What matters more are the areas in which I have proven experience and responsibility: electronics, firmware, communications, EMC, automation, commissioning and deployment.
